Join our experienced, local guides to explore the historic university city of Cambridge. Our approach is a little different from a standard tourist tour: we believe that ideas matter, and focus on how a small number of big ideas have shaped the university over eight eventful centuries.
Discover Cambridge’s history through the eyes of her famous scholars
Learn about the founding of the university and the origins of some of the most famous colleges under figures such as Lady Margaret Beaufort and King Henry VIII. Explore the birth of modern science, through stories about alumni like Isaac Newton. Hear how Cambridge figures dramatically reshaped English society and politics through the Protestant Reformation and puritan movement. And discover how Cambridge alumni William Wilberforce and Thomas Clarkson spearheaded the campaign to abolish the British slave trade.
Visit all the must-sees
We aim to give you a feel for Cambridge’s most iconic spots, as well as some places off the beaten track. We begin inside the Round Church, one of Cambridge’s quirkiest and oldest buildings, and typically see the River Cam, the university church, the Senate House, the Corpus Clock, The Eagle pub, Cambridge’s oldest building and the Old Cavendish Laboratory. We go past some of Cambridge’s most famous and magnificent colleges, including St John’s College, Trinity College, and King’s College.

Our University Walk (described above) provides the perfect introduction to Cambridge’s history, including its rich Christian heritage. It is our most popular tour, and is available on a private basis as well as public tours running several days a week. It is the best option for larger groups, for whom we can provide multiple guides.
